Music and Movies

Once his career really took off Frank Sinatra also showcased his talents in various musicals among them “Anchors Away” with Gene Kelly in 1945 and in 1949 “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” also with Gene Kelly. It just made Ol’ Blue Eyes ever so much more popular. It was in 1951 that Sinatra made his debut in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Desert Inn. He just couldn’t lose and was also a great hit on TV on CBS with The Frank Sinatra Show.

Another memorable hit came out at this time;
“I’ve Got You Under My Skin”

In 1958 Sinatra released an impressive album of saloon songs and blues ballads Frank Sinatra Sings for Only the Lonely. This included songs like “Angel Eyes” and “One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)”.

The 50s brought rock and roll and some problems for Sinatra who wasn’t about to start rockin’ but this didn’t mean that his popularity was over. He came out with another hit in 1959 “High Hopes” and this hit the Hot 100 and stayed there for 17 weeks.
