On Top of Old Smokey

I don’t know how many of you remember this folk song but at one time it  was quite popular. This song became a hit for American actor, writer and folk singer Burl Icie Ivanhoe Ives or Burl Ives who had a likeable singing style.
“On Top of Old Smokey”

“Blue Tail Fly”
“The Wild Side of Life”
"Funny Way of Laughin'"
"Little Itty Bitty Tear"

  1. Yes, all of these songs give you that sing a long feeling. I don't know if you remember but the Christmas cartoon Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is supposedly narrated by a snowman the voice of that snowman is Burl Ives and I believe he also sings some songs there too. Just an interesting fact.
