Singing with the Candy Man
In 1972 on the pop charts the number one song was “The Candy
Man” and it was sung by an American entertainer called Sammy Davis, Jr.
His very first album was released in 1955 titled Just for
Lovers and it included songs like “You Do Something to Me”, “These Foolish
Things (Remind Me of You) and “Body and Soul”.

He became another singer who entertained a lot in Las
Vegas, Nevada. Some of the
songs which were typically associated with Sammy Davis, Jr. were “Mr. Bojangles”,
“I’ve Gotta Be Me” and “You Make Me Feel So Young”.

One of his best albums was The Sounds of ’66 which was
recorded at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas
and it consisted of songs such as “Come Back to Me”, “What the World Needs Now
is Love” and are you ready for this? “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead”.
