Singing with the Candy Man

In 1972 on the pop charts the number one song was “The Candy Man” and it was sung by an American entertainer called Sammy Davis, Jr.

His very first album was released in 1955 titled Just for Lovers and it included songs like “You Do Something to Me”, “These Foolish Things (Remind Me of You) and “Body and Soul”.

He became another singer who entertained a lot in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some of the songs which were typically associated with Sammy Davis, Jr. were “Mr. Bojangles”, “I’ve Gotta Be Me” and “You Make Me Feel So Young”.

One of his best albums was The Sounds of ’66 which was recorded at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and it consisted of songs such as “Come Back to Me”, “What the World Needs Now is Love” and are you ready for this? “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead”.

Hope this took you down memory lane and that you enjoyed these songs.
